In response to the previous review, watch that you compare apples to apples... Many of the Hammerhead reviews were for the initial model(s). In '07, I believe that the Hammerhead only had a take-apart frame (no Lockjaw hinges) and Dahon improved the components over the years. What Amazon has, is the last/best iteration of the Hammerhead -- which has improvements and higher MSRP from the earlier Hammerheads.
If you read through many of the bike forums/BBS, many Dahon users opined that this was the model they should have kept instead of trading-in. Folding a DualArc or Lockjaw frame is a bit more of a nuisance as you need 2 different sized hex keys, but Dahon provides a T-tool for that. On the plus side, it's a stiffer frame than the later single-hinge frames. Instead of using a long folding handlebar stem, the older DualArc frames used longer head and seat tubes with two Lockjaw hinges on the top and down tubes. A previous (discontinued) Dahon single-hinge model most comparable to the Hammerhead was Dahon's Mu SL. Current in-production bikes which are comparable to the Hammerhead are the Tern Verge X10 (at around $1800).
Get these while you can -- when they're gone they're gone...

i don't know if amazon accidently got the price wrong or something, but this is not a new model bike. this is a 2010 model of the Dahon Hammerhead 8.0, which has since been discontinued by Dahon.
See link from Dahon website on this hammerhead. It has "archived" watermarked on there meaning it's been discontinued. [...]
On top of that, the MSRP for this price from Dahon is only $899, don't know why Amazon is selling a 2010 model bike, which it's the year 2012, and the price is $1299?? WTH??
See link on the review done on this bike from Dahon's own website showing the MSRP @ $899. [...]
all in all, i rode this bike in Taiwan and love it. It'll be cheaper for me to buy it there in Taiwan for about $823.72 (converted from NT$ currency) and have it shipped here for way under $1K!
so someone is not pricing it right.. if it's for a 2012 model, i can understand, but for 2010 model.. err~
